It was a process before Teacher Georcelle Dapat-Sy of G-Force mastered being a choreographer for different celebrities.
G-Force is one of the most sought after choreography groups in the country, naming Sarah Geronimo, Anne Curtis, and KC Concepcion as some of their regular clients.
First thing she does is “ina-aral ko na ang bawat personalities, bawat celebrities. I don't apply the kind of training sa dance school, sa studio to my dance rehearsals because artists they have ano, e, ang erratic ng schedule nila. So you make them absorb everything that they have to absorb sa oras na 'yon.”
She also adds that “I always tell my choreographers that all choreographs dapat designed sa bawat artista. Personalities they have different auras, different branding.
“You cannot give Sarah Geronimo's dance steps to Anne Curtis. Iba si Anne Curtis kay Sarah Geronimo, so the choreographs should be really designed for that particular artist.”
But one thing that Teacher Georcelle is thankful for  is that she does need to assert her authority to gain the respect of her students.
“Alam mo luckily ang mga katrabaho naming artista iniiwan nila ang problema, e, kapag pumasok sila sa akin,” she replied when asked if she's a strict teacher. “Siguro we have established that working environment, working atmosphere lalo na sa ASAP.
“Wala, e, iwan lahat. Kapag tumayo sila alam nila we mean business. We can be friends, we ca talk, we can laugh, we can eat together, in fact minsan pa-party pa kami together. But when it comes to work, they know we mean business.”
The Top Students
Since Teacher Georcelle have handled a lot of celebrities now, she was asked who among the celebrities would she consider her “top students.”
She gave it a thought and said that Sarah Geronimo, Anne Curtis, and KC Concepcion are among her top students.
She also mentioned the names of those who are in “ASAP” Supah Dance segment namely Rayver Cruz, Maja Salvador, Shaina Magdayao, and John Prats.
She also described the different dance choreography given to Sarah, Anne, and KC.
“Si Sarah kasi mayro'n siyang natural groove,” she said describing the Pop Star Princess. “Singing and dancing kasi, e, so kailangan mo rin 'yon balansehin sa hinga ng singer. But Sarah is ma-groove siya na mananayaw.”
She then described Anne whose dance steps are mostly “sexy, naughty, sweet, [kasi] gano'n siya, gano'n dapat ang design ng choreography na ibibigay sa kanya.”
“With KC, masarap kasi equipped, mayro'n siyang background sa dance. So bigyan namin ng kicks, we give her turns, kayang gawin,” she said.
