Sarah Geronimo revealed her parents have become more understanding when it comes to her love life.
While she still gets their full support, Geronimo said her parents, fondly called Mommy Divine and Daddy Delfin, now let her learn about life and love on her own.
“Mas masasabi ko ngayon na mas understanding na sila kung ano ang pinagdadaanan ko, na normal lang minsan nai-in love ka, minsan masasaktan ka. 'Yung masaktan ka is part of loving someone,” she said in an interview on ANC’s “Belo 101” which aired on Sunday.
Asked who she is more open to, the singer-actress said: “Ako naman kahit hindi ako magsalita, mukha ko pa lang, facial expression ko pa lang, alam na nila. So pareho sila. Wala na rin akong choice kundi mag-open up sa kanila.”
Geronimo, 25, admitted in a previous interview that she has already fallen in love twice.
"Yung natutunan ko sa una? Natutunan ko 'yung acceptance. Siguro, we're not meant for each other. Siguro hindi pa lang ito 'yung panahon namin. Pero importante sa lahat na napagpatuloy 'yung friendship," she said, while declining to name the guy.
Geronimo said her second attempt at love made her realize that she deserves someone better. But once again, she refused to identify the guy.
"Natutunan ko, magmahal ka ng totoo, ng tama. Ngayon kung hindi niya suklian, ay, sorry. At least ako naging totoo ako sa 'yo, minahal kita ng totoo," she said at the time.
Throughout Geronimo's 10-year career, her mother has figured in a number of intrigues, with critics blasting her as a demanding stage mother, who supposedly intervenes in the young singer's relationships.
Geronimo’s parents are also known to have instilled Christian values in their daughter, who has been vocal of her faith in God in her interviews and live shows.
Geronimo had been romantically linked to actors Rayver Cruz, John Lloyd Cruz and Gerald Anderson. She is currently being linked to actor Matteo Guidicelli.
