Actress-singer Sarah Geronimo and news anchor Bernadette Sembrano were among the ABS-CBN personalities recognized Thursday by Anak TV, which honors programs and stars "worthy of emulation by children."
The awards rites, held at the SGI Auditorium in Quezon City, saw the induction of Geronimo and Sembrano, along with GMA-7's Jessica Soho, into the Makabata Hall of Fame.
Hall of Fame inductees are those who have consistently topped the annual Anak TV surveys, which have recognized personalities who are "credible, wholesome and worth emulating by the youth," in the last seven years. Voters include parents, teachers and concerned non-government organizations.
The Hall of Fame awards were presented by Movie and Television Review and Classification Board (MTRCB) chairperson Eugenio Villareal, screen veteran Nora Aunor, and award-winning director Brillante Mendoza.
This year, survey winners were dominated by Kapamilya personalities, including Charo Santos-Concio, Anthony Taberna, Coco Martin, Daniel Padilla, Kim Atienza, Noli de Castro, Richard Yap, Ted Failon, Angel Locsin, Jodi Sta. Maria, Judy Ann Santos, Karen Davila and Kathryn Bernardo.
Dingdong Dantes, Ryan Agoncillo, Vic Sotto, Kara David, Marian Rivera and Vicky Morales were also among the survey winners.
